Today is Mark’s birthday and it was a lot of fun. Jordon blogs about it on his site but I thought I would offer up some other thoughts. First of all it was a lot of fun because Jordon put a lot of thought into it which I am starting to realize makes him rare among many men. A lot of women come through my till at Safeway frustrated at Christmas because everything is left to them, I am the opposite, Jordon carries a lot of that responsibility which is nice for myself.
Over the last couple of weeks Jordon put together a really fun gift list that included not only some fun things for Mark but also some fun things to do with them. With his two way radios, they are already planning an adventure at the lake, and with the skimboard, they have places to try it and tricks to attempt. Lee was a lot of fun with his gift for Mark, a nice dome tent and a great sleeping bag Mark will use for years at the cabin. According to Mark the cabin won’t be as much a place to sleep but a place to store his tent while he isn’t there. Of course Lee has a not so secret agenda, if Mark is sleeping outside, then Lee gets a bedroom and not the couch when he is there.
As you can probably tell, today was spent testing the radios, looking at skimboarding videos on YouTube, making plans for sleeping outside, and watching Surf’s Up (which was a pretty good movie) together. I hope all of Mark’s birthday’s are this much fun.
