The annual Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra book sale is on right now at Confederation Park Mall. We went buy and bought Mark some old Hardy Boys hardcovers and also some books from the Danny Orlis series which I had never heard of until I married Jordon. As the series is described…
“Adventure, mystery, suspense – these make up every Danny Orlis story. From the northern Canadian wilderness to the steaming jungles of Guatemala, Danny meets danger and mystery as well as everyday problems in the homeland. He is a capable outdoorsman, a skilled athlete — and above all a consistent Christian. Quick action, quiet courage, and level-headed thinking often save the day as Danny uses his resources to the fullest. His ability to apply biblical solutions to every situation makes him a unique personality whose experiences often provide realistic guidelines for Christian youth facing similar difficulties.”
Of course the one that Jordon remembers the most is the one where Danny gets his hand trapped in a beaver trap. He can’t remember what Biblical principle he used to get out of that.
On the way home Mark was already telling us about Frank and Joe and seemed quite happy to be reading about their adventures.
Of course the best part about the Symphony Book Sale is the prices. 11 books for $16 is a pretty good deal.

Danny Orlis ! During my senior year, my roommate Mark(who later led me to Christ) had a bunch of boxes of books. His dad had just “half retired”, and moved out of their good-sized suburban home, to a cozy double-wide near a lake. His mom packed up all his books and he took them back to college, to our roomy apartment.
One box was full of Danny Orlis adventures. I think he had every one – the box was quite full. Good reading for kids.
Wendy,
Do you still have the Danny Orlis books? I have been collecting them slowly and want to know what you have. Maybe we can make a deal.
Thanks!!!
Greg
