Christmas

Canadian Tire MoneyFor a wide variety of reasons Christmas has been a lot less stressful this season and one of the reasons is that we are almost done Christmas shopping and preparations.  The tree is up and decorated, the Christmas village is all set up, and a bunch of presents are under the tree.  We have had a lot fun shopping for Mark this Christmas.  Lee, Jordon and I have all put a lot of thought into Mark’s gifts and our combined efforts should be fun.  Another thing that took the stress of the day is that we were able to get Mark a great gift with Canadian Tire money.  Anytime you can buy a gift with money you are given for getting gas, life is good.  While I won’t talk about shopping for Jordon, Lee who is quite difficult to shop for was actually helpful in letting Jordon and I know what to get him which is nice.  Jordon is also the king of giving fun gifts and is always helpful in helping me shop and run errands.  I need to get a couple more gifts but it is all coming together.

Socially the season is quiet.  Our big event is the Centre’s Christmas Party and for it, we are heading to The Barn Playhouse for a night of dinner theatre.  Now last year’s party was absolutely amazing  so I am really looking forward to this one as well.

For years and years Christmas Eve is spent doing something at church.  This year it may just be spent at home.  I am done work around 5:30 p.m. that day and Jordon is done at 4:00 p.m.  He has promised pizza for the night guys at the Centre but other than being a pizza guy for work, it should be a quiet night.  On Christmas Day we are heading to the Reimers for part of the day which is probably our longest running Christmas tradition.  Actually Mark’s first words were spoken on Christmas Day when he yelled, “Tamara” into a Christmas paper wrapping tube.  Most kids say “Mom” or “Dad” but not Mark, his first word was “Tamara!!!!” hollered into a paper tube that was later destroyed in a battle with Jerry.  This year there will be friends, food, and family and it will be nice.  The big change is that neither one of us are working on Boxing Day for the first time since we have been married.   That day of unwinding after Christmas Day will be so nice.  We have no big plans for it and we definitely won’t be at a mall or fighting crowds.

I hope your holiday season is doing as well as ours.
