Our backyard

With the weather finally getting nicer, Jordon and I are starting our yard improvements for the year. The first thing we had to take care of was the big pile of maple in our backyard, crushing a juniper and my raspberry bush There are about 100 big logs, most of them weighing a lot and all of them needing to be hauled to the back of the yard.
Once we get that done, the plan is to add a flowerbed behind the pond and fixing the fence right behind it. It is our neighbors fence and he redid it a couple of years ago but never finished off a 8 foot section by the now gone tree. He has moved so I think Jordon and I will just finish it. In addition to the pond, we are working on some of the furniture as well. The patio table is getting refinished with a textured finish. The table has been in the Cooper family for about 20 years and has been painted and redone many times. Even Jordon and I have done it twice. This time it is getting a new textured finish. Lee has some wooden adirondack chairs that need to be refinished. We did one last year but being out in the yard all winter was tough on the finish. Jordon and I have some plastic ones that have lasted a long time and they never need to be repainted. We need one to replace a stolen one and we are adding some end tables.
I mentioned a while ago that we bought some moonlights for the yard. With the snow now gone we have installed those in my perennial garden which looks pretty good. The lights were $2 each at XS Cargo (sadly they are sold out of them) but they look good in the backyard.
The one thing that we stayed away from was a gazebo for the yard. We think they look cool but in our neighborhood I fear it would just be ripped apart. While they do a good job of defining a space, hopefully we can do that for ourselves.
