Goldie the Goldfish

Yesterday we got Mark his first pet, a single goldfish. He had been lobbying for one for a while and we already had a fish bowl so we decided to plunk down the 89 cents and get him one. The plan is if he keeps taking care of it, we will get him a small aqarium for his birthday.

We have always kept goldfish in our landscape pond. They generally don’t last the summer. A combination of not cleaning the pond enough, too many cats, and the occasional freak storm are not the best environment for goldfish.
