Not good news, unless you are the WNBA

Stats like this kill Jordon but more people watched the WNBA on ESPN2 than watched hockey on OLN this season.
To put those numbers in perspective, more people watched the 13 WNBA broadcasts on ESPN2 last year than the NHL on OLN this year. And NBC’s poker series, which preceded the network’s NHL playoff coverage two weeks ago, easily outdrew the hockey by more than 200,000 viewers.
That noise is Jordon sobbing somewhere.




(chuckling ruefully) Tell Jordon that all is not lost. The next generation is still loving hockey. My daughter (12) is taking skating lessons, going to hockey camp and is determined to be in the NHL when she grows up!! We watch hockey on OLN every night!!! We’re only one … but she talks hockey to everyone she meets down here in Virginia. She has papered her room with hockey posters and is trying to get her friends into it. So … who knows? Her favorite team (the Capitols) didn’t make the playoffs, so now we’re rooting for Edmonton.
