A gold pin…
March 31, 2006 by Wendy Cooper
Yesterday was a good day and a weird day. The good part was that I got to go to a free lunch at the Saskatoon Inn with my boss and some of my co-workers and be presented the gold Customer Service pin and a certificate signed by Safeway CEO, Steve Burd. I also got a nice gift card from Safeway. My boss said some nice things and the lunch was a good one.
Then came the weird part. One the way to pick up Mark, I thought to myself that I should really run by the house as Jordon was really sick that morning before he went to work but then shrugged off the thought as went to visit a friend. When Mark and I finally got home, there was Jordon sleeping on the deck in a lawn chair as he didn’t have any keys and was too tired to try to break in. Today he told me that the 15 minute walk home to 35 minutes. He looked terrible and had been there for about an hour. He came inside, feel asleep on the couch for six hours. Was awake for no longer than 20 minutes, fell asleep for another 13 hours and had a fever for most of the night and for today as well. Today he feels worse but is awake. He is a good mood considering but is off to the doctor today. At work he needs a note when you miss two consecutive days. Even if Jordon didn’t need a note for work, I think he would be off to the clinic today. He has slept 10-13 hours a night every night this week and still feels tired and this is after sleeping almost all day yesterday.
Mark and I did a pretty good job of being quiet. Jordon said that Mark didn’t wake him up once but I did telling Mark to be quiet when I thought he was being too noisy. Who would have thought that I would be the noisy one in our household.
Other work related news. I quit my second job. I am really happy about it but Safeway is giving me enough hours and this way I can be here more for Jordon and Mark. Since last year, Jordon and I hadn’t had a full day off together in ages. It will be good to hang out together again.

Wendy, that’s great news you will have more family time. I’m really happy for all of you. Gosh, hope Jordon gets well soon. Praying.
Congratulations on the work recognition. Also on more family time available. That will be great. (I’ve been reading your blog for a long time but I think this is my first comment)
