A clarification

Lately some people from my past and Brandon, Manitoba have talked to myself and Jordon about what a horrible person I am because I never visit my side of my family and I never come "home" to Brandon or mention family on my weblog. Some have also heard "news" from my family about my life. I want to point out a couple of things.
- I haven't been to Brandon in many years and don't intend to. Before you berate me for not doing so, maybe ask the question, "Why does Wendy not want to come back to Brandon and see her family?" and if that answer doesn't come to you quickly, then ask me before berating me.
- If anyone from Brandon or my family that isn't Jordon, Lee, or Mark says that they have been talking to me, they are lying about it. If they know any news or anything about me, they have been reading this page or Jordon's weblog or are making stuff up. Take your pick. We have no communications. I don't know anything about them and unless it is written here, they don't know anything about me.
I can’t say I know how you feel or that I know your situation… but I CAN empathize with the hurt and pain of having to cut ties from your family because their abuse is destructive. Stay strong, and when times seem low, take a moment (guilt-free!) for yourself to think about the blessings that you DO have. And remember that YOU have value to others in your life, and they love YOU, even if you feel you’ve disappointed.
