I picked up the mandala today that we are going to be doing at the worship freehouse this Sunday. It really does look stunning. We had decided to get it started somewhat to encourage people to dive in and create. I was thinking about the urge to create and find order. Even though some days seem to have fallen together like a car wreck for me I still feel that there is this urge toward God in chaos. In thinking about the mandala, we learned that we all (talented or not) have a need to create or feel that we can form thoughts creatively. One thought that came out of last weekend for me was that we create in order to find the creator. Why else do we have the urge to make something different, or to bring mess into order. I think that for those who feel that they aren’t artistic sell themselves short. Even though a person may not be able to do anything in that genre they often if not always have a knack for something that involves creation and order. As long as we are limited by our biases we will fall short of seeing God in the details.
