Long lost friends

Tonight Jordon, Mark, Lee and I headed over the Reimers to see Tamara who has returned from the Orient full of stories of wonder and awe. I have to admit, I missed Tamara a lot since she left for Taiwan and it was good to see her and also a bunch of people we spent a lot of time with while Jordon worked at Lakeview Church. Time has moved on for all of us. Kids, new jobs, new careers, and all sorts of fun stuff and for whatever reason, we don’t see each other that much any more. It was nice to see everyone and tell and hear some stories. Lakeview seems like a long time ago and we are all getting older.  I do miss not seeing some friends we used to see daily.
It’s weird but Jordon and I both love history but we don’t really live in the past. So much of my life seems done and gone and I don’t really miss it. Not that it was all bad but it is just done and gone. Maybe leaving the bad stuff behind forced me to say good-bye to things easier or maybe I am just looking forward to the next big challenge in life. Who knows, I don’t have time to think about it :-)

The one thing that always sticks with me from parties at the Reimers is the food.  The appetizers kept coming and coming and coming some more.  So much good food, so many calories, so much weight put on.  It was so good.
