Jordon tells a story of his gambling problem when we were in Las Vegas

Jordon tells a funny story about his supposed “gambling problem“. We were in MGM Grand and
he goes to Lloyd, “so how do these slot machines work”. Lloyd gave us both a dollar bill (we didn’t have any thing smaller than a $20 on us) and Jordon put it in and pushed a button a couple of times and it was gone. Jordon looked over at me and said, “Are you addicted yet?”
It was so funny because we had such a good time in Las Vegas just walking around, doing a little shopping, and seeing Hoover Dam but Jordon just could not see how playing slot machines was fun. One night when we were going to bed around 9 (Mark was with us and so we called it early nights), Lee ran into us in the lobby of Treasure Island and said, “I wonder how many of these people will still be at those slots when you get up in the morning?” We came downstairs the next morning and as we walked out of the elevator, some of the same people we still playing the same slot machines. Apparently they figured out how they worked.
Apparently Jordon and Cathy Johnson’s great Aunt Beth would win enough on her frequent trips to Reno to cover her trip. According to people who went with her, they were amazed at how much she won. That being said, I think she didn’t gamble very much a trip and when you bet $20 a day and win $20 back, you have done quite well.
The detail about the story that Jordon left out is the reason we ate at McDonalds in the food court and not in the famous buffets was the smell of cigarette smoke wrecked the taste of the food. Gamblers are smokers. I am not sure if the gambling is the money maker or the cigarette sales.
